Nude lips don’t have to be subtle and glossy – they can make a statement. In this Ardency Inn Natural Lip Color Pencil, mine do!
James Vincent, director of artistry and education for Ardency Inn, told a crowd of beauty bloggers at a recent event that he loves the look of a nude lip, and the brand’s new lip color pencil line can help women find their perfect nude match.
I received a pencil in Delancey to try out, and I was happy that it is one of the lightest of shades, and seems like a great match for me!
It’s soft, but it’s a statement. I also wore Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette in this look, and I looked down in that first photo to show off my eyes, lol!
The Natural Lip Color Pencils are made with cocoa, shea and shorea butters, as well as Vitamins C and E. There’s also an ingredient I haven’t heard of before, squalane, which increases water retention in lips and gives an extreme softening and conditioning effect. The formula is paraben free. My lips could definitely use the nourishment, they have finally bounced back from the rash of eczema I had on my top lip, but I still deal with some chapping because of the intense winter we’re having.
As far as concept, the Natural Lip Color Pencils remind me of the Maybelline ColorSensational Buffs, except it has a different formula.
In wear-testing, Delancey lasted on me until lunchtime, so that’s about five hours. It didn’t stay creamy towards the end, but I could feel product on my lip in places and I only needed to touch up after lunch, but didn’t have to reapply all over my lips.
There are five shades available through Sephora.com (there’s a link in the first sentence of the post) for $23. There are five shades of pencil. You can also purchase it through the Ardency Inn website here for the same price.
So what do you think of this lip pencil? Do you like to do a nude lip? I would like to try it out in some of the other colors.
