Disclaimer: I am a Alessandro Brand Ambassador. See bottom.
Can you tell I tried to form the nail polish bottles above in the shape of an “A”? Ha!
I am new to the nail polish brand Alessandro, which has made a relatively recent jump into the USA market after having been a European lacquer brand for a long time.
I purchased my first Alessandro polishes at The Makeup Show Pop-Up Shop in December, but since then I became an Ambassador for the brand! So I have five more Alessandro Nail Polishes from the brand’s line of 99 colors to share with you today.
I’m excited to get to know this brand better, and I look forward sharing with you my honest thoughts about it as I review different polishes and products.
So let’s just get into it!
New York Grey
New York Grey is a grey creme. I thought this was a bit on the crelly side, like I thought about all the cremes I tried here – but it’s just a thinner formula. I don’t think it’s crelly. It’s shown here in two coats, opaque and pretty.
Red Carpet is a vibrant, true red creme. Shown in two coats, opaque. It’s a classic, “Marilyn” red.
Wild Safari is a bright green creme. This is a beautiful hue! Shown opaque in two coats. This will be fab for summer.
Wild Cat is a beautiful shimmer – it’s a brown base loaded with bronze and gold shimmer. This looks beautiful in the sun AND the shade. It was opaque in two coats.
Peppermint Patty sounds like it should be a mint green, and maybe my eyes are screwy, but this polish looks like a pretty light blue creme. This is one of my favorite ones. I love blue, all the various hues of it!
I dig the Alessandro bottles, which are square, and I like the short brush handles. I tend to have more control when the brush handles/brushes are shorter. Here’s a shot of the brush/cap:
The polish itself is nice. I didn’t have any issues in application. I mentioned the formula being a little thinner than other brands I’ve used recently but that doesn’t impact its application. The formula is supposed to be fast-drying and promises no chipping, smooth and streak-free application and high color intensity due to UV absorber in the polish. It also says the polish protects the nails and has a high gloss shine. I can attest to the high gloss shine, color intensity and great application. I will do a little wear-testing to find out more about the chipping, though!
The brand recommends that you gently shake Alessandro nail polish bottles before use, and apply the polish over base coat with a top coat (they mention their own, of course!). They also recommend two coats of color, which sounds right, based on opacity I had with these five polishes.
Alessandro Nail Polish retails through the brand’s site here for $9.50 a bottle. You get .34 fl. oz. of polish. The colors here are also available in soak-off UV gel nail polish and UV color gels.
Have you tried Alessandro yet? What are your thoughts? Any colors jump out at you in this post? I think they are pretty dupable hues, but the range is pretty large and I think every good line needs, for example, a classic red.
What do you think of Alessandro?
