15 Beauty Products in 2013 I’ve Taken With Me Into 2014!

Disclaimer: Some press samples. See bottom.

Out with the old, in with the new, right?!

It’s 2014, and it’s an opportunity to create a new beauty wishlist, try out many of the new 2014 launches, and think forward!

But there are some things in the beauty world that I’m taking with me from last year (and years past!) and I thought I’d share those with you now!

I’ve highlighted each product where I have already written a post, if you want more info on availability, pricing etc!

Milani Color Statement Lipsticks

plums and berries

This epic launch of lipsticks was one of my favorite moments in beauty in 2013. Experimenting with the different hues was fun, and Milani goes to show that you don’t have to be expensive to be a quality product. These lippies are drugstore pirces but department store payoff! The brand will be launching new shades this year, too!!

Jesse’s Girl Lipstick

jesses girl lips
Jesse’s Girl launched a new line of lipsticks, too, and they wow’d me, as well! The selection of 12 shades (including a vitamin E stick!) hit major color trends at the time of launch as well as timeless shades, and gave me great options for red and pink lips (I was a little obsessed last year with hot pink and red lips!) These were a total win for me and I’m taking them with me into 2014!

Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara

longest lash 2

Jane Iredale launched Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara earlier last year and I was SO impressed with it. It was the most expensive mascara I’ve ever had on my lashes, but it gave me lashes I LOVED. This was a win of a launch, and in the new year, I plan to buy a new tube (I still have mine from almost a year ago but that’s not hygienic anymore!)

LA Splash Spotlight Lengthening Mascara

lasplash mascara

This LA Splash mascara not only applied great, giving my lashes volume and definition, but also had a beautiful blue hue, a light-up wand, and a mirror on the tube for application! WIN WIN WIN! Inexpensive to replace, and I want to try some of the other colors, as well in 2014!

Wet n’ Wild CoverAll Pressed Powder

pressed powder

This Wet n’ Wild press powder is perfect for me to use over my BB Creams and liquid foundations. I can use it in Fair, Fair/Light and Light, depending on how fair my foundation is. It has really made my stash of diverse foundation more wearable, and the powder is pretty good for only being $2.99! I use a powder brush to apply it, but keep the little sponge in the pan for touch-ups after lunch!

Kryolan Variety Eye Shadow Compact (18 colors)

These eye shadow palettes from Kryolan may not have been new in 2013 (I’m honestly not sure!), but they blew my mind! I love the colors, and the quality of the shadows. Kryolan is a pro brand, and expensive, but worth my money. V1 Interferenz is one of my favorites from the three I picked up at IMATS earlier last year.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stained Gloss Lip Tar

stained gloss six

I love OCC Lip Tars, but they brought their game to a whole new level when they introduced the Stained Gloss formula! Still pigmented, these lippies have a translucent look and feel. I couldn’t even tell you which one is my favorite, because I loved them ALL all summer long!

Beautisol Tea Tan Glow Instant Tan

I don’t use self tanners…but when I do, I use this from Beautisol!! I am a hard customer to please when it comes to self tanning lotions and products, but this one applies evenly, with no harsh smell, and looks natural. If you haven’t tried it, put it on your 2014 wish list!

Armour Beauty Lip Gloss

armour 5

Armour Beauty Lip Gloss was one of my favorite finds in 2013. I discovered them at The Makeup Show NYC in May, and when TMS NYC had a pop-up shop in December, I bee-lined for this booth and bought a few more. These lip glosses pack staying power, a pretty, light scent and great color. Another to add to your 2014 wish list!

Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen

powder me 2

All summer long, I found myself putting the CoverAll powders aside, and using this gem – Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen. This powder was a great way to ensure I had my skin protected from the sun, while giving me a boost of coverage over my light, summer foundation looks.

theBalm Instain Long Wearing Staining Powder Blush

instain 2

This beautiful peachy punch of a blush from theBalm looked scary bright in the pan, but ended up looking perfect on my face! It does wear long, and was a great summer blush to have around!

Pixi Perfection Palette

perfection palette 2
The Pixi Perfection Palette in Lit Up Lovely fast became my go-to for work-appropriate eye looks in 2013! Expecting some work travel early this year, I’m keeping this around, and can’t wait to create more looks with it!

Serenity + Scott Brow Gel

brow gel 2

I haven’t put up an official review of this yet, but it is coming very soon. I have used brow products in the past, but none have made me happy with my brows like this Serenity + Scott Brow Gel in Golden Blonde! I’ll save the rest for my review! This is a brand new brand in 2013, and I can’t wait to show them some love!

MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Heroine

Going to do a review of this one, as well, but in short, I thought I’d missed out on getting MAC Heroine earlier last year, and was THRILLED when it came back as part of the permanent line, and I scored it from Nordstrom online! This lipstick is HOT!!! I am newly-obsessed with purple lips, and I was so happy to have a lemming fulfilled!

Kat Von D Spellbinding Eye Shadow Palette

kat von d 5

And here’s another one with a review coming on the blog soon! This Kat Von D eye shadow palette is cool because there’s lots of color combo possibilities, but they are arranged in duos, to take the guess work out of it if you don’t feel creative a particular day! I LOVE this palette!

So do you have any of the products on my list? See any that are going on your 2014 wish list?! I’d love to hear in the comments below!
