LVX has produced some amazing creme nail polishes, very…well, luxe and totally on trend with the runway fashion of each season. But for the brand’s Winter Resort 2014 collection, they are shaking things up!

This collection is packed with shimmer, texture, metallic and chrome, and setting us up for a vibrant post-holiday nail look!

Let’s check out swatches!

Magenta:

magenta

Magenta is a fuchsia that has a beautiful glow; much like the glowing fuchsias we saw for fall 2013 from OPI, Zoya and Orly, for example. It applied nicely and is shown opaque in two coats. Definitely one of my favorites from this collection.

Sappir:

sapir 2
sapir

Sappir is a sapphire metallic shimmer. This is a beautiful winter polish. It’s shown here opaque in two coats.

Avalon:

avalon
avalon 2

Avalon is a multifaceted bronze shimmer. This is one of my favorites in the collection! The hidden shimmer that makes this polish glow – I love it! This is opaque in two coats.

Graphite:

graphite
graphite 2

Graphite
is a silver chrome – this one was a little thicker than the others, and a bit of a bear to apply. It definitely dragged on the second coat. Of the six polishes, this is the one I would leave out of my shopping cart. It is shown here in two coats opaque, with some streaking.

Caviar:

caviar 2
caviar
Caviar is a textured black with gold glitter. The way this dried, I couldn’t tell if it was just a bumpy glitter, or a texture polish. It seems caught in the middle of vinyl and texture. We’ve been seeing much more pronounced textures lately (think Essie Belugaria!) and I think this is a more subtle way to achieve the look. It’s also unique in my collection, but not one I would have picked. I think it’s a nice pick for someone unsure of the bolder textures that are available, but I probably would not put it in my shopping cart.

Scarlet:

scarlet
scarlet 2

Scarlet is an AMAZING, glowing take on maroon! This polish is so stunning!!! As I swatched this collection, it began snowing, but that last picture was accurate and I had to include it! In the light that glow you see in the flash photo peeps out. This is my favorite polish of the collection, hands down. It’s a must have! I did use three coats here, I felt like I wanted to add to the depth of it, although it was nearly opaque in two coats.

Overall, I am impressed with LVX’s first noncreme collection! Scarlet is my favorite, with Magenta and Avalon being close seconds and Sappir being a runner up! I definitely can leave Graphite, and I am on the fence about Caviar.

The only polish that had an iffy formula was Graphite, and although Scarlet seemed thinner, it built up and wasn’t a bear to apply!

These polishes are lovely and I’m excited to see LVX experimenting with texture and type – I can’t wait to see what they do next!

These polishes are available on the LVX website here, and they retail for $16 a piece.

SUCH a gorgeous collection! And it’s funny because you have yours lined up in the exact order I plan to do mine, lol ♥ I adore your shot of Scarlet in the snow.

Thanks, Liesl!!! I appreciate your comment because I hated all my swatches of this collection – I was disappointed in the cloudy weather because I think these polishes are so much prettier than what they appear to be here. I look forward to your swatches! I think I still was able to show them, but this is one, cloudy-day-blogger perspective; I can’t wait to see light box and sunshine swatches too!!!
