My favorite nail art tools are studs and rhinestones. I love being creative with these nail art bits! They can be classy, fun or both. You can use one as an accent or use 20 on one nail – it’s just a total diverse tool to have in your nail art tool kit!
Plus, raise your hand if you think studs, spikes, and rhinestones are hot right now! *Raises hand*

The kit includes:
- JESSICA nail polish in Black Matte
- 2mm Orange Neon studs
- 2mm Pink Neon studs
- 2mm Purple Neon studs
- 3mm Gold stud
Here’s a swatch of Black Matte:
I used a Nail Tek treatment and a Nail Tek ridge-filling base coat under this matte polish and it was perfection.
I took this at night on my phone, but you can see that over the matte nail polish, I took a long, thin nail art brush dipped in top coat and created pinstripes down the nail. Then I added the gold studs. Simple and elegant. I didn’t seal the studs down with matte top coat or regular top coat, and I lost those studs off my nail not long after I did them. I would really advise that if you are using the studs in an all matte look, consider using a matte top coat to seal them in. If you’re doing a combination like me, then matte it and then do the glossy lines over again Or save them for after!).
Side note: This polish held up. On day three, I had tip wear. No chips!
Here’s the other look I did. It’s more of a fun look!
For this look, I took the same long, thin brush I used in the first look, and added a line of top coat across my nail, and immediately stuck the matte neon studs on it. Then, I sealed everything with Essie Matte About You. LOVE.
Anyone else think of Lite Brite when they look at that last look?!
