The latest Nail Art Society kit, Gold Flake, should be arriving to NAS members anytime! Woo hoo!
When I got this kit, my initial reaction was that It’s like a little slice of the rich side of fall in a black velvet bag!
The theme of the Gold Flake is rich – metallic gold accents and a beautiful shimmery orange polish perfect for cooler temps and falling leaves!
Check out the Gold Flake kit components:
- JESSICA nail polish in Cinnamon Kiss

- Gold, thin nail art foil
- Adoro Elements Crystal rhinestones in Tear Drop-Light Yellow and Spring Fling
- Nail Art Inspiration Guide featuring Stacie Clemons of World of Nailcraft
For $11.95, including the value of the nail polish, nail art bits and the card that includes some guidance you get from Nail Art Society’s Renowned Artists (formerly known as Gurus!), you definitely get your money’s worth in this kit.
Here’s the first look I did!
I decided to try and use the foils over my entire nails, over JESSICA Cinnamon Kiss, and it looks like aluminum foil or the delicate wrapping of a chocolate. I’m not uber proud of this, but it was a lesson in using the foil. I used decorations from the Cala 3D nail art stickers – a crown for the tip of my index and pinky fingers and a fleur de lis on my thumb.
The foil is extremely delicate, more delicate than the foil that wraps a chocolate! I just applied pieces of it and broke off the excess and put it back into the tiny jar.
Unfortunately, even though I sealed it with top coat, the foil peeled off a lot the next day, and it wasn’t very durable for whole nail coverage.
For my second look, I decided to use the foil in a way I like better, and how I think it will work better: torn.
This time, I took foil glue and randomly applied it to the nails, and then pressed down and left pieces of the foil behind after a minute. This is a bit of a Halloween look, using the Cala 3D Nail Stickers in #86298 for the middle and ring fingers of the look. I used OPI I Knead Sourdough for this look.
I can’t wait to do more with this kit closer to the holidays. Those foils will be great for holiday nail art!
Don’t forget that the deadline to receive the next kit – I Love Studs – is this coming MONDAY, OCTOBER 15. You can sign up here. (affiliate link). I’ll be posting more about this kit over the weekend! It’s $11.95 a month for a subscription, plus shipping/handling.
