When I first opened my Instain Long Wearing Staining Powder Blush from The Balm, I’m pretty sure I let out a small *gasp*!
The color of this blush, in Toile, is so vibrant! Check it out:
Toile is described as a “strawberry” blush on The Balm website. I really love the packaging. It’s compact, but offers a rather large pan of blush, of which a little bit goes a long way. It even has a mirror, and look at what’s written atop it:
Well, even though I was intimidated by the shade, I decided to try and “wear it well”!!
Here’s the ingredients:
When I wear this blush, I look like I have a flush to my face that is lovely. For this post, I paired the blush with a simple tinted moisturizer, sunscreen powder and a sheer lip gloss for a very fresh-faced summer look that I really love after weeks of wearing bold, bright lipsticks.
The blush wore extremely well. Staining, indeed! I can testify to that as I wore it on a warm summer day, and spent the entire day outdoors under a blazing sun or in a truck with no air conditioning on. It wasn’t a bear to wash off, though.
While the color was extremely intimidating for me, with the proper amount used, it’s a complementary hue for me and my fair skin.
Instain is $22 per blush, and there are six shades. It can be purchased through The Balm’s website (linked directly to the blush in the opening paragraph). The packaging on my Toile says 5.5 g/.2 oz.
What do you think of Instain? Do you like the idea of a vibrant, staining powder blush? And what about this beautiful summer color, Toile? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
