I’ll post my roundup of first impressions from IMATS tomorrow, but I know everyone loves a good haul so…I’m doing a haul post. I figured, too, that if my wallet is crying, it should be for a good cause and I should get as much blog mileage out of it as I can LOL!!!
Kryolan was one of my first stops! I scored three variety eyeshadow palettes with 18 colors each – Natural (the neutral palette), Interferenz (the shimmers, bottom right) and Bright (the bright matte shadows top right). I’d been wanting to try these palettes since I first saw them behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week earlier this year!
I also interviewed one of the reps of the brand, and he gave me the magazine you see there, as well as a sample of the Tinted Moisturizer, Shimmering Event Foundation and a Viva eyeshadow single in Peach. I’ll probably review each palette, and then do a post on my chat with the rep, and show you the samples he provided.
My Jesse’s Girl haul is as colorful as my Kryolan haul!! I will disclose that because of the friendship I’ve developed with the brand owners, I received some product for free and others deeply discounted.
I went to IMATS knowing I wanted to stock up on more Eye Dusts. I love them – they’ve got brilliant colors. So I picked up 10 new colors, and at the bottom is their Eyeshadow Transformer, which means I can turn the Eye Dusts into liners!! I also plan to try these wet.
I also scored the Masquerade palette, and used it for my Saturday IMATS looked! The colors are beautiful. I’ve really come to enjoy time I spend with the folks behind the brand, and I managed to wrangle Jesse, who hates photos, into a photo with me and his wife, Cathy! I also took a pic with Christine, who is Jesse’s daughter and the brains behind their amazing social media!
I love these people – they’ve got big hearts and an amazing cosmetics line!
Also, I stood in line to say hello to Julie G, who was an amazing sport, standing ALL DAY in high heels and meeting and greeting fans who at multiple points of the day wrapped around the booth! It was amazing! Love seeing her! Also, I love that what you see in her videos is what you get, she’s so down to Earth:
I first bought Naked Cosmetics pigments at The Makeup Show Orlando in November. They are amazingly versatile – I used them for eye looks AND for frankening nail polish! I bought two that I’d been eyeing in November, that will be GREAT for eye looks!
LA Splash Cosmetics
I picked up eight new nail art glitters – neon glitters are HOT right now, and I picked up a bunch of combinations for nail looks! I picked up some holo/iridescent glitters, as well. I also picked up two lip glosses, a colored lengthening mascara (OMG LOVE) and a holo silver eyeliner. Most of the line is found at the company website, and some of the products in the line are available at Harmon. More to come!
I listened and watched as Cory Bishop, a pro makeup artist with Stila, did a Bridal Boot Camp session at IMATS Saturday. Obviously, I have some personal reasons for paying attention, and I picked up some great tips for my own nuptials (also, only 7 months and two days away…but who’s counting?!) I choose two products that Cory used on his bride model during the boot camp – Convertible Color in Petunia, and Long Wear Liquid Lip Color in Petal. Definitely wedding day contenders, and definitely will have some DIY wedding makeup tips coming on the blog from Cory! I ran into the lovely Nicole Levine outside the Stila booth, and we chatted up a storm, what a lovely woman! She is a writer at BeautyStat!
I loved Nicole’s classic red lip, nude eyes and black liner. Totally on trend right now!!
Two Cosmetics offers drug store prices on department store quality makeup, they tell me! And their prices are amazing. The shadows remind me of MAC shadow singles, and they have a neutral palette that’s a dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked Palette that sells for a fraction of the price. I definitely have more coming on this brand soon, but I had to share my cool shadow haul!
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics
OCC Makeup was slammed the entire IMATS! Everyone loves a Lip Tar, right?! Right!
I picked up the six new Sci-Fi Lullabies nail polishes, and two of the Lip Tars I’ve been lemming, Yaoi and Clockwork. Reviews to come! I’m wearing Leelo (bronzey-pink shimmer) over Batty (black and silver glitter) today!
It was hard to pick just two things from Ka’Oir, which has an amazing, vibrant line of lip colors, nail polish, eye shadow and glitter for lips. I picked a nail polish in Star Dust and a lip gloss in Sparkle. I used Sparkle over another coral lip gloss yesterday, because it added a glittery POP!
Give Good Face
Pretty much, I DO work for lipstick, especially after all this haul and getting paid on Friday! LOL So it was only natural I picked up this T-shirt from Give Good Face, which is owned by Jordan Liberty. More to come!
I first discovered the Glamour Grip HD Beauty Sponge from Graftobian at The Makeup Show Orlando. And I went back for another one. This is my preferred way to apply liquid foundation, hands down. I picked up a blue one because, well, blue is my favorite color!
Finally, I stopped at a booth with accessories, and picked up this lipstick and lip pin. This will make me feel like me on my wedding day, when I put it into the brooch bouquet I’m planning to DIY for myself! It will go towards the back, where I hold it. A little of me on my wedding day!
And I was ecstatic to meet two other beauty bloggers I love! Brooke, from Blushing Noir:
I’m bummed I didn’t get to spend more time with Brooke, I was supposed to go back to the show today and I would have seen her, but I skipped out, knowing I should spend time editing photos and blogging since my week is going to be cray-cray! Plus, next week I’ll be covering IBS (International Beauty Show!) And my funds are running low. I gots to pay for more train tickets…and a girl needs to eat LOL!
But Brooke is beautiful, and of course we both had our Rebecca Minkoff bags on us!
I also met Niki from Hello Miss Niki!
I first met Niki on Twitter, and I have always been super impressed with how upbeat she is, and what how amazing she is at networking through social media. She’s as beautiful and kind in person, and I hope to see her again! Loved her red lip! I think she may have done some damage to her wallet, too, and I’ll be excited to see what she writes about on her blog! I told her I’ve been avoiding her review of the Sigma Beauty Resort palette, because I know I’ll want to buy it even more after seeing it!
So phew, there you go! A quick (and super long) haul post!!!
What review are you curious to see first?! I’d love to hear your feedback!! I’ll be back tomorrow with an IMATS roundup post!
