I consider an eyeshadow primer one of my necessary beauty basics – if I wear eyeshadow, I am wearing a primer under it!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been “blessed” with hooded eyes that get greasy and crease anything that touches my lids! Urban Decay Primer Potion has been my Holy Grail for several years now, and it costs me $20 a pop. I have the original, the pink shimmer Sin and the gold shimmer Greed. That’s $60 for primers…and I pay this money, because it works and like I said, for me primer is a necessity!

I recently got the chance to break my UDPP (.37 fl oz) routine and try Wet n’ Wild Take on the Day eyeshadow primer (.34 fl oz), which costs about a quarter of UDPP.

But how does the quality hold up?

Here’s the ingredients:

The primer, in a color called “For My Primas,” is a very light nude color:

It blends in clear, and feels light:

Applying my shadow over it, the shadows did pop and stay. Take on the Day helped my eye-of-the-day look last all day and into the evening.

(Used Fergie Photo Op Eyeshadow Palette in Maldives Sky for this look)

The best part about this primer is that it costs $4.99, and it is in the permanent Wet n’ Wild display at  Walgreens! (also available at other mass market retailers across the country)

Have you tried this primer yet? What do you think? This has definitely made me rethink my Holy Grail!
