When Vidal Sassoon reached out to me to see if I’d like to try their VS Volume Boost & Lift line, I could not resist.

My hair is historically flat and seems thin, even though I have a lot of it. I always gravitate towards volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Only recently, as I’ve been highlighting my hair blonde the last several weeks, has it changed a bit to have a coarser texture. But still, I need lift at the roots.

Vidal Sassoon sent me three products from the four-product line: Boost & Lift Shampoo and Conditioner, and Foaming Air Mousse.

The first thing I noticed when I used it was the smell. It smells like salon products, like I just had my hair done. I loved how my hair smelled all day.

The second thing I noticed was that my hair had bounce. When I moved my head from side to side, it felt lifted away from my roots.

The last thing I noticed? How much cleaner my hair was than it had been. My boss actually complimented my hair color, and asked if I’d lightened it. I realized that this line got my hair cleaner than the shampoo and conditioner I was using (I bought the products I had been using, and I wasn’t totally satisfied with them, but I kept using them because I spent money on them and didn’t want to waste them!).

Check out how my hair looks using all three of these products:

I decided to scrunch my hair for the first day I used these hair care products. With the mousse, I didn’t even need a lot of my usual hairspray.

Here’s the pricing of the products:

  • Shampoo: $3.99 at CVS (regular price $4.99)
  • Conditioner: $3.99 at CVS (regular price $4.99)
  • Mousse: $5.49 at Drugstore.com and $3.99 at CVS (regular price $4.99)

I think these products are the right price point, and performed well.
