I just got my February SquareHue box, which reminded me that oh crap! I hadn’t written about my January box yet!
January’s box included a wintery-themed mix of three colors. A sheer, white frosty shimmer called Arctic Frost, a baby blue creme called Glacier Skies and a blue with fine holographic glitter called Midnight Flurries. I swatched, but haven’t worn, Midnight Flurries, and I used the other two together with another polish.
I figured since we’re expecting “Nemo,” the snow storm (of which we’re not expected to get much but north of us is), I figured it was totally appropriate to post some wintery polishes today. Swatches?!
Midnight Flurries:
Midnight Flurries is a beautiful polish. It’s shown here in two coats. It reminds me of Diamond Cosmetics Blue Diamonds.
Next up I used China Glaze Mosaic Madness from the Glitz Bits n’ Pieces collection with Arctic Frost (left) and Glacier Skies (right):
It was a really cool mani, I loved the layers. Arctic Frost looks glass-flecked in those close-ups, right?! I wouldn’t wear that one on its own. Here’s how I did it:
- One coat of Cult Nails Get It On Basecoat
- Two coats of Glacier Skies
- Two coats of Arctic Frost, at tip and going gently into the middle of nail in a couple brush strokes
- One coat and some touch up for added glitter on the tips with Mosaic Madness
- One coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat
I love getting SquareHue every month. I actually tend to forget about it, and then POOF polish shows up at my door. OK, well, I do get a shipment notification so it’s not a total surprise, but I love it that every month I get a new surprise, with a theme! I’ve already got nail art ideas going for February’s box.
Have you subscribed to SquareHue? What do you think so far? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
