If you follow my lip-of-the-day (#lotd) on Instagram (I’m @beautyjudy !), you know that I’ve been wearing lots of new lippies lately.
Some are bold and red, some are hot and pink and others are perfectly suited and tame.
What I love about the 12 new shades of Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics is that it’s a lip wardrobe – like a seasonal OPI collection is meant to be for the nails. The shades of Jesse’s Girl’s new lipsticks range in the spectrum from hot pink to work appropriate but vibrant nudes, giving me options for varied makeup looks. There’s even a Vitamin E among the shades.
Let’s start with that one, shall we?!
Vitamin E is a clear, moisturizing lipstick. Ever since I got it, I’ve been carrying this with me and using it as my go-to when my lips feel dry. It isn’t healing my lips quicker, but it is giving them a dose of moisture when they are crying for help! I have also used this as a base for some of the other lipsticks.
Bubble Yum is a sweet, bright pink. This is one of my favorites!
Sheer Perfection is the perfect work appropriate nude that works so well with my fair complexion. This isn’t sheer, but it is a great nude.
Fabala is actually the nickname of someone in the Jesse’s Girl family! Anyone know who!? The color is as vibrant and positive as the real personality of “Fabala” – it’s a fiery fuchsia.
Tickle Me Pink:
Tickle Me Pink is another bright pink in the collection. While Bubble Yum is a blue-toned pink, Tickle Me Pink is more neon.
Sparkle-Licious is a metallic shimmery red, it seems flexible for all skin tones.
Sorbet is a bright orange-pink cream. This is so vibrant! It’s one of my favorites because it’s so different from what I normally wear.
Desert Rose is a ruddy, Sedona/clay/Arizona type of color. Does that make ANY sense?! LOL
Ruby Too is the red in this collection of lipsticks. It’s very “Marilyn!”
Penny-A-Thought is one of my favorites in this collection with the pinks. It looks like a bronze-y penny color in the tube but on my lip, it takes on this wine color with bronze shimmer. Like Oh, Oh, Oh from MAC Cosmetics. It’s beautiful!
Cruise Control is a lighter, more brown version of Sorbet. It’s a great daytime color.
Plum Blossom is a beautiful juicy plum color. When I posted this one on social media, I got a lot of feedback that this one was well-suited to my skin tone, more so than some of the reds and pinks I’ve posted. It’s definitely going to be my go-to color, and finding that go-to lipstick can take the struggle out of “what to wear?!” for me, especially since I have an obnoxious amount of lip products LOL.
These lipsticks are only $3.99 a piece. That’s pretty amazing for the quality of these lipsticks. The majority of these lipsticks were very creamy. They stained my lip so I didn’t have to worry about touching up my color throughout the morning and afternoon (I always touch up after lunch, even if I don’t need it!).
These are currently only available on the Jesse’s Girl website (linked to at the top of the post!), but they will eventually come to Rite Aid!
Do any of these colors jump out at you? Anything you want to try? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
