My 5: For the Face

My 5 is a new series I’m test-driving! It’s my favorites for this or that. This week, it’s my favorites for my face! I’d love to hear what you think about this, and if you have any ideas for future My 5’s! Like – what category of favorites would you want to hear about?! Red nail polish? Anything! I’m open!

1.     Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I’ve used a ton of BB creams.  And of course, beauty blogger that I am, I haven’t reviewed any of them yet!

BB creams are perfect for me, because they tend to be light, and I’m pale as a blond-haired, blue-eye baby’s butt.

I have two favorites, but I have to say that Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream edges out the other, even if I use the other more for its fuller coverage.

Maybelline’s BB Cream doesn’t really act like a BB cream. It’s more like a tinted moisturizer. But I love it anyway. It evens out my skin tone just enough so that I can use it without having to use my regular heavy-coverage foundation/BB cream to cover my rosacea face, and walk out the door if I don’t feel like putting on my whole face. If I want to use it as part of my makeup routine, I use a dusting of Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Foundation in Fair over it, and presto, it looks like my rosacea face is FLAWLESS.

2.     Clarisonic

I don’t really remember anything about life B.C. (before Clarisonic!)

My skin care regimen has been permanently altered now that I have my Clarisonic. I take it with me when I travel. I sleep with it at night. Ok, I really don’t. But I seriously love how polished my skin is after using it – every time! Also, when I use the Clarisonic to clean my face, and I use Lush Breath of Fresh Air to follow, there is no makeup residue on the cotton pad. If I wash my face ANY other way, including when I use Lush Ocean Salt to exfoliate, there is residue on my Breath of Fresh Air-soaked cotton pad.

SOLD!

(I reviewed the Clarisonic here.)

3.     Lush Breathe of Fresh Air

Hello, lover!

Lush Breath of Fresh Air was a totally spontaneous purchase at the Lush located in the Mandalay Bay (Las Vegas), that has become one of the staples in my facial routine. I cleanse my face in the shower with my Clarisonic and cleanser, and then I use Breath of Fresh Air after I’ve done my hair, so I can get off any hair spray that might have settled on my skin during the hair-doing process.

It smells slightly medicinal in a pure, clean, fresh way, and it makes my skin feel so refreshed as I wipe my it across my face with a cotton pad.

This stuff? Is the shiz.

4.     It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush

I’ve been using the It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush pretty exclusively since I received it in May. (I reviewed it here) It is my favorite foundation brush yet. It’s soft, comfortable to grip, and does a great job of applying my makeup evenly over my face.

There are few brushes that I buy back-ups for – this is one that’s on my list!

5.     Model in a Bottle

I haven’t reviewed Model in a Bottle yet either, for shame. But this? Makes my makeup stay ON.

Model in a Bottle is like extra hold hairspray for your face. It’s like that coating you put over a completed puzzle to make all the pieces stay in place. It’s AH-mazing!

I don’t use Model in a Bottle everyday, because I don’t always care if my makeup stays in place. A work day with no meetings and no evening out afterwards? Skip. That day when I presented to 200 people and had to stand at a podium? YES, please!

I use Model in a Bottle when I know I don’t want my face to go anywhere.

What are some of the products you can’t live without for your face?! Share in the comments below!
