G from one of my favorite beauty blogs, Nouveau Cheap, posted a tag that she made up from a bunch of tags that she went through, she said, while looking for something “non-makeupy” to do today! I decided that it sounded totally refreshing to do something non-makeupy, and that I wanted to consider myself tagged!
1. What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
In 2001, I went to Peru on a reporting assignment for the newspaper I worked for - I did a series about a church/school mission trip there. Each day I filed one or two stories, and each day of the series a different colleague wrote about a different type of religion’s mission trips and philanthropy. We won an award in the Community Home Run category of our state’s press association. It was my first journalism award, and the people I met touched my life - and I do mean forever! Here’s a picture of a very sunburned me with some of the children I met:
2. What’s your favorite quote?
“You can choose to have a good life or a bad life. I choose to have a good life.” – said by a woman interviewed on a news show about how she handles life with a debilitating disease.
3. What’s one food that you can’t live without?
PHO TAI. PHO sure 
4. What’s your song of the week?
I heard Karmin on Elvis Duran last week, and I’ve had “Brokenhearted” stuck in my head – I heard it on the way home from work tonight and I was singing along quite loudly in my car!
5. What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
“Finding Nemo,” “Sliding Doors,” “Office Space,” “Up Close and Personal,” “Mean Girls,” “Despicable Me,” “Anchorman,” “Elf”
6. Can you change the oil in a car?
No *blushes from shame*
7. Favorite kind of sandwich?
Pilgrim! Turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. It’s a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich!
8. Can you knit or crochet?
Crochet, yes. But I don’t know if I can remember how actually! Years ago I started making a blanket by crocheting and I stopped when it became a scarf. It’s very stiff, but it’s so warm! Of course I want to take a pic but I can’t find it! LOL
9. How many languages can you speak?
Three – English, a little bit of conversational Spanish and … blonde
10. Be honest: Do you ever forget your reusable bags when you go to the store?
All the time. I’m so sorry, Mother Earth 
11. Favorite type of pie?
My grandmother’s Sour Cream Apple pie. Since she can’t make it anymore, I’ve settled on coconut cream pie as my second favorite.
12. What do you wear to bed?
A T-shirt and PJ pants!
13. Ever been in love?
Yes. But it’s the love I’m in now that matters most <3
