Bone-stiff, straight kohl eye liner pencils? Thick, pen-style liners? That is SO yesterday!
Meet the new, hot stuff in town: An eyerliner with sexy curves!
NYX has created The Curve Liner, an ergonomically-shaped felt-tip eye liner, designed to help you grip the product just right to make applicaiton a breeze.
I shared some initial thoughts and information about The Curve Liner in my Cosmoprof North America roundup post about NYX Cosmetics, which you can read here. At the time, my concern with this liner was whether it would feather. Twice I swatched The Curve Liner on back of my hand, and twice it feathered.
But as you know, you can’t judge an eye liner by a quick run across the back of your hands, because the skin is different (although if it is a smooth, quick, pigmented run, you know you’ve possibly got a keeper!), so I took it home and wore it, giving it a test drive on a very busy Monday, when I knew I’d be wearing it for more than 10 hours. The results?
The Curve Liner formula is on-spot. It didn’t feather, and it didn’t budge all day, except in the inside corners of my eyes, where I kept rubbing (apparently your first day back from vacation, having to get up early, is tough and makes you really sleepy!). The curved reservoir contains .31 oz. of the liquid eye liner.
The formula and application – if you take away the ergonomic design – is similar to a felt-tipped pen or marker eye liner.
But what about that ergonomic design? Does it make a difference?
I found it a little weird to get used to at first, because I’m so used to the “stick” when I apply eyeliner. I generally rest my hand on my cheek as I apply my eyeliner. I’ve gotten application down to a science. But holding The Curve Liner the proper way felt weird the first time.
Despite my initial effort to get comfortable using The Curve Liner, it wasn’t SO weird that I couldn’t get the hang of it quickly. I found I had great control over how I was lining my upper lid, and I really liked it.
Of course, Mike had no idea what he was looking at, as I was prepping the post and he spotted the large product shot.
“It kinda looks like a Bluetooth.”
Hmm. He’s kinda got a point! LOL
So what do you think about an ergonomically-built eye liner? Do you think it would help you if you hate applying liquid or pencil eye liner? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
