Cosmoprof 2012: New Stuff from American International Industries (aka, China Glaze!)

When most people think about China Glaze, they don’t think that the brand is a sibling to various false lash brands, or skin care…or even men’s shaving care!

But it is! And the American International Industries booth at Cosmoprof North America (held in Las Vegas July 22-24) was hopping with awesome goodies to share again, this year!

There was a lot I can’t share yet on the polish side, but I can tell you we are in for a treat when it comes to China Glaze and other brands under the AII umbrella! it’s very exciting to see some of the upcoming launches and new products! I’ll leave it at that…

All About Nails

So let’s start off with China Glaze! See the photo at the top of the post? That’s the Bohemian Collection, the much-anticipated duochrome collection! Here’s a nail wheel of swatches:

Unpredictable, a blue/gold duo, and the one at the far right, Deviantly Daring, are winners for me! Rare & Radiant looks like another Chanel Peridot dupe, and Swanky Silk seems like a possible dupe for Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy.

In September, China Glaze will release another round of Magnetix (Magnetix II):

This launch introduces a new magnet, with three new possible designs:

The new magnet is on the left, the existing is on the right.

Next up is Halloween!

Wicked is a six-piece collection with glitter and goth!

Also coming – actually, I’ve already found it! – are Real Nail Polish Appliques!

I found a set at Image Beauty over the weekend and couldn’t wait to try them! This is Shake Your Tail Feathers:

I used a coat of Seche Vite over them. You’ll notice I had some nail tip showing on a couple nails. I figured out it’s because I was pulling the applique so tightly as I filed off the excess. It’s a good tip – pull it tight but not so tightly that it bounces down too far from the tip!

I was asked not to take photos of the upcoming holiday collection, so I can’t share that with you at this time! I am allowed, however, to share spring 2013! Introducing, Avant Garden, launching in January 2013 for spring:

Some pretty typical lights and brights for this transitional season!

These are all cool, but even more exciting? China Glaze’s upcoming HOLOGRAPHIC release! True, we have to wait until next summer to have the Hologlam Collection on our digits but…

These are going back to the quality of OMG holos, friends!! These are gorgeous, and strongly linear! I can’t wait to have them on my fingers!

*calms down, takes a sip of water*

Seriously, there are about four other releases that I think you’re going to flip your nail polish remover flip-top over, just like I did when I saw them! I can’t wait to share them with you!!

Moving on from China Glaze, I got to take a peek at what’s new with It’s So Easy, the AII nail art/striper collection.

Check out these cute nail designs that were on the display:

I definitely need to try tuxedo nails! A teenager seated in the row in front of me on my flight out to Vegas had them, and I was jealous! LOL

 All About Eyes

One of the other big brands AII is known for is Ardell, which makes false eyelashes. If you check out my post from the other day, you can see me before and after having Ardell lashes applied by a makeup artist at AII’s lash bar during Cosmoprof!.

So what’s new with lashes? Well, Ardell Double Up got new packaging:

There are a couple other things I can’t talk about … but I will when the launches are ready!

I am still not convinced I’m capable of applying falsies without makeup artist supervision, but I did receive a couple pairs, and I am determined to try them out and review them!

So what do you think? Are you loving the Hologlam Collection? Like the looks of Ardell Double Up? Share your thoughts below!!

The Wicked collection looks appealing.I am probably one of the few people who don’t care for holographic polish.I do love the nail appliques though, especially the peacock design.I want it now! :-)

Hey, that’s why they make so much nail polish – cremes, shimmers, blue, mauve – we’re all different :) The nail appliques are nice :)
