The Beauty Loser Weekly Update 4

Pic is from the starting week; I didn’t take a new pic yet, you’ll see why as you read on!

Last week I tempted the weight loss fates by eating a lot of TastyKake Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes. This week, I just went all wrong, and it started by trying to eat right.

I’d start my morning off with an 80-calorie cup of yogurt, because I figured I’d be saving the majority of my calories for later in the evening, when I had no idea what I was going to eat for dinner. While this tactic wasn’t working in weeks past, because I was eating well at night and having too many calories left over, it was working – or so I thought – this past week because dinner was unpredictable. I ate out a couple times, drank alcohol three nights and did no exercise.

By eating the bare minimum for breakfast meant that by lunch, I was nuts. Shaking, headachy, cranky…I went out to get lunch on Friday and had to pull over, because I thought I was going to be sick. As soon as I started eating, taking sips of the creamy tomato soup I bought at Panera Bread, I felt myself coming back to life. Clearly, I need to eat more protein and calories for breakfast.

It’s official. I can’t do this on my own. I need structure. I am going to join Weight Watchers as soon as I get back from vacation and can afford to go to the weekly meetings. While it’s cheaper to do it online, I feel like I need the support of meetings.

I’m still going to report my progress every week. This isn’t about my diet, this is about lifestyle change, and chronicling that here. So I’m not going anywhere!

The stats:

Weight at start of week 4: 214.4 lbs.

Weight at end of week 3:  215.8 lbs.

That’s a gain of 1.4 lbs. That brings my total weight loss since 8/8/2011 to 2.6 lbs.

How utterly disappointed in myself I am.

Strengths this week:

  • None, as far as I can see!

Weaknesses:

  • Where to begin?

My goals for week 5 are simple!

  • While I can’t seem to get this right on my own, I will continue to try until I can join Weight Watchers, which will be the end of September.
  • Mall walking in the morning before work – more on that soon!
  • Drink all my water for the day!

How are you doing with your goals for the week? Whether they are weight-loss related or something else entirely? Do you think I’m being a wimp, having to turn to a program like WW to lose weight?

    Stop beating up on yourself.

    Go directly to http://www.sparkpeople.com

FREE weight loss and health website.
No meetings, just join, and log in daily
    to record your meals/exercise.

They will tailor a program for your needs and
    lifestyle.
They have lots of online help/support/articles/
message boards, blogs, etc etc etc.

Does it work? I’ve lost 71 pounds since last summer.
    Weight loss is never easy,
    but you are worth it.
    Nothing against WW, but
if you are busy, and the meetings inconvenient,
    it can get demanding.

I’m so pleased that your going to WW. It really works because it teaches you to eat everything within reason. It’s too tough to just cut everything out. I lost 1.8lbs last week. I thought for sure I would gain. The scary thing is when the tomatoes are gone. I eat lots of big salads & tomato sandwiches. I use the thin sliced bread & it’s really good. Your still exercising & that’s really good. Don’t be disappointed with yourself. Your going to be doing the right thing so be proud of that.

You are NOT a wimp! If I had a local WW here, I’d probably have done it too. :] Drink that water!
