Color Club’s booth at CosmoProf was one of the most exciting to me – it had loads of glitter, texture and color – and the polish I was most excited to get my paws on, Fame & Fortune, has been in the back of my mind ever since I first saw it weeks ago!
Imagine my excitement when I was purusing TransDesign, and I spotted it! I quickly snatched up the Backstage Pass, Beyond the Mistletoe and Foiled collections.
I’m so in love with Fame & Fortune that it gets its own post, sans the rest of the collection!
And how about a bottle shot?
Fame & Fortune is an almost red pink jelly loaded with cracked ice holographic glitter, or irregular shaped holographic glitter. – however you want to term it. I used two coats, and then topped it off with a coat of Deborah Lippmann Addicted to Speed. I didn’t feel it was opaque enough, so I added one more coat, and topped it off with CND Air Dry. The manicure has lasted three days with minimal tip wear.
I couldn’t bear to take it off – it’s so gorgeous!
I love how the glitter layers and sometimes looks like its swimming in the pink jelly.
None of the glitter pieces stick up on the nail, which I worried about with the irregular shape. There is some bumpiness and I feel some of the edges of the glitter, but it has not caught on anything, and it doesn’t stick up.
This polish reminds me of Color Club’s top coat from Untamed Luxury last fall – Covered in Diamonds:
Covered in Diamonds is more iridescent than holographic, though.
I bought a back-up of Covered in Diamonds and I really, really need to buy a backup of Fame & Fortune, too! This will DEFINITELY make my Favorites of 2011 list (I always do this the end of each year!).
I had no issues in application of Fame & Fortune. I didn’t really work to get the glitter pieces on my nail. There is the slightest bit of an issue with the glitter pulling away from the cuticle as you paint, but I easily remedied that by placing some of the glitter at my cuticle from the brush. It took me no longer to do this mani than it does for me to do any other mani!
Removal is a bit of a pain, but I held the acetone-soaked cottonball on the nail for several seconds as I worked the glitter-packed polish off my nails. Be prepard for elbow grease that is WELL WORTH IT.
What do you think of Fame & Fortune? Are you as in love with her as I am? Are you excited for the glitters practically everyone is coming out with this fall/winter?! Share in the comments below!

Judy, I’m so glad you mentioned Covered In Diamonds, I think everyone’s forgotten about it! Haha, Color Club did this first, people. This is AWESOME and I’m gonna need it STAT. Seriously, I’m drooling over this. I’ll be stalking TD until I can order, I want to get my hands on these haha! I can’t wait to see your swatches of the rest of those, I am really curious about all three collections!

It reminds me of a more opaque version of OPI’s I Lily Love You. I want it! I missed out on Covered in Diamonds

This is different from I Lily Love You. The glitter is bigger and more dense, and holo vs iridescent like the OPI. Also, the OPI has regular glitter, this does not. Both are gorgeous polishes but different for sure!

Oooh, I like this! I always love a good holo glitter polish. The color is pretty also. I just added this to my list.
