Nicole by OPI has released six new crackle top coats, called Nicole by OPI Texture Coat. It is described by the company as “a line of graffiti-style nail art products inspired by OPI’s bestselling Shatter.”
Texture Coat is available in six shades – Gold, Silver, Red, White, Turquoise and Black. You can see them all in the above photo.
I decided that I wanted to do individual posts on these Texture Coats, because I don’t like swatching crackle polishes. So today I’m starting off with a post about Turquoise Texture! I paired it with Nicole by OPI Pink Seriously:
I wanted something totally Smurfy, since Saturday, June 25th, is Global Smurfs Day 🙂 I figured this was Smurfy, with a little bit of Smurfette thrown in 🙂
Turquoise Texture is pretty much a dupe for OPI Turquoise Shatter. Here’s a bottle pic comparison:
Turquoise is one of my favorite colors of crackle. However, I do wish more of the base color could come through on this one. This Texture Coat is caught between a true crackle (a la Kleancolor) and a Shatter.
But because blue is one of my favorite colors, I love it. It’s pretty, and it’s SMURFY!
I had no problems with application. I painted two coats of Pink Seriously, added Poshe Top Coat, then added the Turquoise Texture when it was dry. I applied another layer of Poshe over the finished mani.
Nicole by OPI contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde. Texture Coat will be available July 2011 for $7.99 each at ULTA, Target, Meijer, Harmon, Wegmans, Sears, and H-E-B. Texture Coat will be available in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart and Loblaw.
