I decided to wear what I thought was the funkiest two colors from the Color Club Wicked Sweet scented nail polish collection this past weekend, but they also happened to be the stinkiest, in my opinion. Of course, I used Gimme a Grape Big Kiss and thought it smelled lovely – so hopefully the rest of the collection is sweet!
But I have to say, the lemon scented polish grossed me out.
Stinky number one is I Always Get My Man-Darin:
I Always Get My Man-Darin is a hot neon orange with green flash, which of course I could capture neither color in my photo. It’s really not mustard-colored, I swear! It’s a GORGEOUS color!
Except then it smells like fake citrus smell. Ew! I am not the biggest fan of citrus-scents – like grapefruit or oranges. So for me, this was a big scent fail while being a color win.
Get Your Lem-On:
Get Your Lem-On is another hot neon, a yellow, with green flash! You can see it in that second photo. I love this color so much!!
This one stank even worse than the first one. It smelled like a perpetually dirty public restroom after being cleaned with heavily scented lemon cleaner. Mike even threw out that it smelled like “urinal cakes,” but then quickly retracted it, saying he actually doesn’t know what urinal cakes smell like. But you get the picture.
Anyway. The one saving grace is that I do my nails at night, near bed time. And by the time I woke up both days after putting these one, the scent was faded. Thank, God.
I’ve got high hopes for the scents in the rest of the collection, including the bubble gum one. I will report back to you soon! What about you – have you tried these? Smelled these?
