Today Was a Fairytale
I wore a dress. You wore a dark grey T-shirt
You told me I was pretty when I looked like a mess
Today was a Fairytale…
That’s my favorite lyrics of the Taylor Swift song, “Today Was a Fairytale.” I admit, I love Taylor Swift. I think she’s horrible live – did anyone else cringe when she did the duet with Stevie Nicks at one of the awards shows? *shudder* – but she’s sweet, and her songs are innocent and heartfelt.
Something else I like about “Today Was a Fairytale?” Now it’s the name of a gorgeous Deborah Lippmann glitter!
Today Was a Fairytale is a virgin diamond powder-infused silvery-blue shade with silver sequins. Although it’s named after a Taylor Swift song, the press release says the polish was created with divas like Mariah Carey and Cher in mind. “Today Was a Fairytale is exclusively for those nights when you’re going to bring down the house,” Deborah Lippmann said in the release.
Today Was a Fairytale is such a pretty glitter! I would definitely use it as a layering polish, but after two coats it’s not bad. I had no application issues using it. I love the subtle blue of the silver, this will be a beautiful layer for winter, come first snow!
Here it is layered with China Glaze Naughty and Nice (from the Tis the Season Holiday Collection…review coming later!):
I wanted to layer it over a brown, but a dark, dark wine color was nice, too!
Before I sign off, I learned something interesting the other day! You guys may know that Deborah Lippmann is also a jazz musician. Well, she’s actually doing a show in NYC at Feinstein’s on November 7 and 8:
If you live in the area and are interested, you can purchase tickets here. I’m so curious to attend, but I am unable to make the shows. Is anyone planning to go?
What do you think of this polish, fellow fanatics?!
