I really, really wanted to interview Andrea of Evil Shades Cosmetics before I did this post. But I’ve been holding onto it for too long and I just placed a new order the other day to try some of her Mythology Collection, so I’m hoping to do a more in-depth post about the company and the entreprenaur behind it once I’ve got looks/swatches done from my latest order
Anyway! Evil Shades is one of those new-to-me makeup brands. I placed my first order a couple months ago. I couldn’t be happier with the eye shadows, lip glosses and lipsticks that I’ve tried. The lipsticks are not only pigmented, but soft and balmy – so moisturizing!
The shadows are pigmented and easy to use. I love the colors and especially the names of her products. Soul’s Torment is one of the prettiest shadows I own!
Onto swatches!
For my first look, I chose Chusi, Phyrra’s Fantasy and Neritic. I also used MAC pigment in Your Ladyship as a highlighter and Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Minx – oh! - and 100% Pure Mascara in Blackberry:
In the first face shot I was also wearing Evil Shades Deviant Lipstick in Bane, but I switched to NARS Orgasm lip gloss because I think it softened my face with such bright shadow! But isn’t Bane gorgeous, too?! I am also wearing NARS Orgasm blush and Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Warm Sands.
Next look: My Fourth of July FOTD using Evil Shades’ Wistful, with Bare Escentual Exotic Pearl, and red liquid eyeliner from Hot Topic (used UDPP and NYX Milk as a base):
Also used: 100% Pure Mascara in Blackberry, Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Warm Sand, MUFE Aqua Cream #5 (for cheeks) and Tarte Natural Lip Stain Pencil in Lust. Please excuse the weird pose with my hand all in my hair that I’m making in that last photo LOL
The last two looks were kind of bold and unblended. The next two are a bit more like what I wear on a daily basis!
Here’s a look with Zombie and Neritic:
I know I also used MAC Liquid Liner in Coco Bar and 100% Pure Mascara in Blackberry. These colors really bring the blue out of my eyes!
And one using Soul’s Torment and Phyrra’s Fantasy:
I also used MAC Penultimate liquid liner pen for this look, but I can’t remember what else I used
See, I shouldn’t have waited so long to write this post
Anyway, Evil Shades eye shadows are reasonably priced at $3.50 per 3G jar, or $1 for sample baggies. The lipstick is 4.75 per tube, and the lip glosses I mentioned, but didn’t feature, are $3 for a pot – the same one the shadows come in!
Can’t wait to share my new goodies with you when they arrive
Have you tried Evil Shades? What do you think?!

Love all of the makeup looks. The shadows are fantastic looking. I must put in an order. I adore lipstick and pigmented and like a balm are music to my ears. Love the 4th of July look. Adorable. Hope you’ll feature the lip glosses soon.

Thanks, Lucy! Diana at Painted Lady Fingers actually wrote about one of the glosses I have, Diana’s Bow – she did a great review!
