Do you watch television and look at a characters nails and wonder, “is she wearing OPI Kinky in Helsinki?!” “OMG! Is that MATTE?!”
Apparently, I do.
I made a few television polish observations and I’m wondering what you all think. Did you notice!?
- I spotted U.S.A.-themed nails where? At the Olympics! The two-person U.S.A. bobsled team (Erin Pac and Elana Meyers) not only sported glitter eyeliner, but I swear, Erin Pac had either flags or some sort of U.S.A.-themed nail art. How cool is that?! I saw blue with white stars, and red and white stripes.
- On Frank the Entertainer (ok, yeah. So I don’t always have the greatest of television viewing choices) I’m pretty sure Dana was sporting dark matte nails! I might have a harder time finding someone to back me up on this as I might be the only viewer of this smut?
- Speaking of smut! The Bachelor = my guilty pleasure! Did you see The Women Tell All earlier this week? Michelle, the emotionally unstable dater, looked to have Chanel’s spring hottie, Particuliere on her digits! Whether it was Chanel, or a look-a-like, she had a great mani!
I’ll leave you with my own Olympics mani. Mike and I had a quiet night in last night and I finally got to play with some nail art. We’ve been watching the Olympics the last couple weeks and I will be sad to see them end this weekend, but hoping for a Canada/USA hockey showdown!!
I’m no artist, so take it for what it’s worth 
I used China Glaze Calypso Blue as the base for all nails except the ring finger; I used a mini Color Club white (I believe it was from the matte collection in fall) on the ring fingers. I used striper nail art for all the nail art:
Middle finger: Gold medal! Ring finger: the Olympic rings! (made with patience and coffee stirrers!). Pinky: An ice skate!
And in case you’re wondering, on my pointer finger? The nail art is supposed to be a mini version of this:

To be honest… I never watch the Olympics. I am shame to Americans, lol. But I think this mani is really cute and original!

Cute mani! I tend to notice the nail polish on all the ladies on Days of Our Lives. Alison Sweeney (Sami), Louise Sorel (Vivian), and Lauren Koslow (Kate) all have great manicures. Alison Sweeney has worn OPI’s You Don’t know Jacques several times. Lauren Koslow tends to prefer dark colors, but she is always with the color trends. Louise Sorel returned to the show after being off for a long time, and she was polishing her nails in one of her first scenes. There was even a bottle or Orly top coat in the scene.

Excellent manicure! I too wil be sad to see the Olympics go. So annoyed about Apollo Ohno getting disqualified last night. What a shame. I haven’t heard anything or saw any Olympics yet today. I have to catch up on my Facebook games and blogs. I’ll be doing my stuff in front of the TV later. I didn’t catch the nails but I did catch the glitter eyeliner. I don’t watch the other shows. It’s amazing what trash we watch for guilty pleasures. Guess we just need to let our brains relax and just observe. Have a great weekend.
